Mongra Saffron (Kashmir)

5 (2 Reviews)

Mongra saffron commonly known as “kesar” is a type of high-quality saffron from Kashmir, that is derived from the Crocus sativus flower. It is considered to be a luxury spice and  one of the most expensive and rare types of saffron due to its intense color, aroma, and flavor. The Mongra saffron threads are thick and contain a high amount of crocin, which is the compound responsible for its intense color.

Our saffron comes from Pampore, Kashmir and is sourced from a single estate. Approximately 150 flowers produce 1 gm of mongra saffron. This luxury spice has many uses in food as well as alternative Indian medicine
