Product Details, Recipe's and Cosmetic Uses

The Himalayan region is known for producing high-quality raw white honey, which is extracted using traditional methods. Lets explore how we extract raw white honey:

Beekeeping

Beekeeping is the practice of keeping bees and collecting their honey. In the Himalayan region, beekeeping is done in a traditional way, where beekeepers use traditional hives made of wood, bamboo, or clay. These hives are kept in an area where there is an abundance of flowering plants.

Beekeeper observes the behavior of the bees and ensures that the hives are well maintained. The beekeeper also ensures that the bees have access to enough food, water, and shelter.

Honey Harvesting

Honey harvesting is the process of collecting honey from the hives. Generally, honey harvesting is done twice a year, in spring and autumn. The beekeepers typically wear protective clothing and smokes the bees to calm them down. The smoke also masks the bee alarm pheromone, which can trigger aggressive behavior in the bees.

Removing the Honeycomb

After preparing for extraction, the beekeepers carefully remove the honeycomb from the beehive. This is done using a long, sharp knife or a specialized honey harvesting tool. The honeycomb is then placed in a bucket or container.

Extracting the Honey

The honey extraction process begins by breaking the honeycomb into smaller pieces. This is done to make it easier to extract the honey. The beekeepers then place the honeycomb pieces in a manual honey extractor, which is a centrifuge that uses centrifugal force to extract the honey from the comb.

Straining the Honey

Once the honey has been extracted from the honeycomb, it is strained to remove any impurities. This is done using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth. The straining process ensures that the honey is pure and free of any debris.
